Grease the pan lightly with shortening, add the parchment circle, lightly grease it and flour the pan. Parchment used to be a specialty item, but now most stores have it. I do this with all my cakes. It kind of annoys me to take the time to do it lol but really it takes less than five minutes. It makes the surface of the cake much nicer too. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
