Works-For-Me-Wednesday: Thanking Your Spouse

I really had planned to write about something else, but felt like this was something important. I do not say thank you to my husband often enough.

He does so much for me and I hardly show my appreciation other than a quick, "Thanks, honey." We are on vacation right now and he has taken care of so many things, while I am busy complaining or venting about how my vacation isn't going quite as I had dreamed. And he has listened (or tried very hard to listen)! :)

On this trip alone, my husband has: driven for hours and hours and hours in the car, packed and unpacked many things, dealt with car trouble, ordered fancy coffees for me, checked in and out of hotels, visited with my relatives, taken lots of great photos, helped with laundry and dishes, showed our son card tricks, done things to keep up with his job, readied his laptop for me to use in order to blog (!), listened to me go on and on about everything and anything, given advice, helped me find souvenirs, and much much more!!

THANK YOU, HONEY! I am so glad that God has blessed me with such a wonderful husband and I really do appreciate you even though I don't say it often enough. I love you. - He will now be very embarrassed, but it had to be said!

Have you thanked your spouse lately for everything he or she has done? How about doing it in your own way today?

This works for me as a reminder to tell my hubby how much I appreciate and love him. For more Works-for-Me-Wednesday tips, visit Rocks In My Dryer.

And no, dear...this does not mean that you have to surprise me with a fancy coffee drink - really!

  6. A post after my own heart! Thanks, Lisa. My great guy does so many wonderful things (bringing me Starbucks at work, arranging surprises, taking care of my parents' needs - they live nearby, sending me "just because" ecards, maintaining an immaculate yard which he hates to do but does for me, and the list goes on and on. I always try to remember to say a special thank you. He says knowing I notice his efforts and saying so is what keeps him wanting to do those things. He's God's gift to me, and I always want him to know how much I appreciate him.

  12. I was just thinking about the same thing this week. After 11 years of marriage I feel like I have really taken some things for granted. Hmmmm . . . maybe I will do a similar post and embarrass my guy.

    Thanks!
