Awards and Memes - Good For What Ails Ya

Warning - this post got a little long! :)

I've actually been sick this weekend and am in bed right now, actually. No, I'm not horribly sick - but I've found if I take it easy at the beginning of illness, I get better sooner and it doesn't turn into anything too terrible. I think it's a sinus thing - no flu or anything miserable like that.

Anyway, being under the weather a bit - I thought that posting about awards and memes sounded like a cheerful thing to do!

I am so honored when I receive blog awards. It really is special to me and I appreciate them and the lovely bloggers who have passed them on to me! Thank you!

First, a big thank you to Katy Lin at The Great Adventure for this first award! Be sure to stop by and say hello - she is very sweet!

With this award, I am supposed to share 6 things that make me happy. Here they are:
1. The Lord
2. My family - wonderful hubby and son
3. My friends
4. Chocolate!
5. Blogging
6. Sunshine & Laughter (sorry - cheated and put 2 in 1!)

I would like to pass this award on to everybody that promoted my Pumpkin Potpourri Week! There are too many to list (there were over 22 of you!). Please accept this award as a small token of my thanks! I really do appreciate how you spread the word about it.

And another big thank you to a sweet blogging friend of mine - Sarah Mae at Like a Warm Cup of Coffee for this next award. Go see her - she has lots of helpful things to share!

Now this award isn't just any award, it comes with a questionnaire. Here goes:

1. Do you have the same friends since childhood? Just one that I've known since Junior High

2. What do you value most about your friends? Encouragement, ability to listen, laughter, a love of the Lord, and sharing my appreciation of chocolate!

3. Are your friends your sounding boards? My hubby is usually my first sounding board, then some of my friends.

4. What is your favorite activity to share with your friends? Going to tea or coffee, eating chocolate, laughing and talking.

Besides passing this special friendship award right back to Sarah Mae, I would like to pass it to the following blogging friends who stop by and comment almost daily:

1. Kim at Homesteader's Heart
2. Kathy C. at Blessed Beyond Imagination
3. Lisa J. at My New Thing To Do
4. Rhonda at Scooterblu's Whimsy

And finally, Kathy C. from Blessed Beyond Imagination tagged me for a meme:

She has tagged me with the "5 Things" Game. I am to list 5 things about these specific 5 things and then tag 5 others... so here goes...

1. I was about to celebrate my 6th Wedding Anniversary!
2. I was 2 months away from becoming pregnant with my beautiful son!
3. I let my hubby do all the cooking...now I do it all and he finds it a little difficult if he has to follow my recipes! :)
4. I worked 40-50 hours a week and was the primary breadwinner...now I am delighted to be a stay-at-home mom and a breadmaker instead. :)
5. I weighed a LOT less, but I still liked chocolate just as much!

5 People I am tagging

OK - cheating here as my head is starting to feel a bit fuzzy. If you want to do this meme, consider yourself tagged by me! Be sure to leave a comment to let me know that you're doing it so I can come read it!

I better just stop there! This was a little long. Stop by tomorrow for a Tea for Two-sday post.

Have a blessed day and hope all of you are feeling well!

Lisa :)

  6. Thank you for thinking of me for the award. I appreciate your kindness. I like the tag things, I got tagged my Kim and still have to get that done. I had class tonight and have been working on 306 photos that I took yesterday.

I sure hope you get to feeling better. It doesn't matter what ailes you, it is no fun to not feel good. Take care friend.
