Tea for Two-sday ~ Decorating With Tea Things

Welcome back to Tea for Two-sday! I don't have much to talk about regarding tea today - though I will be drinking some soon - LOL!

I tried to put some decorations in the center of my table that were very clean and simple and used some tea things. But does it look odd? I am no decorator and need all the help I can get! I can handle the constructive criticism - should I rearrange things, add some things, leave out some things, or go a different direction completely? I was drawn to those clearance plates at Target which is what started it all. My hubby thought it looked like I was preparing a Japanese tea ceremony - LOL!

What do you think? Do you ever use any of your tea things to decorate around the house?

Have a wonderful Two-sday!

  1. If it were me (but it isn't) I'd put flowers in the middle. I love flowers. They add such an elegant touch. That's just a thought. Maybe even have them coming out of the tea pot if you don't plan on using it any time soon and then have the tea cups on either side with sugar cubes in them or something. That's just a thought. Or just leave it as it is cute. I'm so wishy washy lol.
    Hugs.

  2. I love the colors, and also love the big vase in the center. But I think the table needs a cloth or runner that is light in color to show off the beautiful color of the plates. Or a gold runner, I don't know, I am not a decorator, and do not pretent to be. And I love the table and chairs too by the way, that is my style of furniture.

  3. Of course I use my tea things to decorate; where else could I keep so much stuff? I have a small tray set with tea service which makes a nice display, and also some cup and saucer holders on the walls in the dining room. Teacups end up everywhere...front entry table, piano top, lol...anywhere I deem it "safe", there is a cup or pot.

  4. I agree it looks very nice. Maybe a cloth or runner would be a nice addition. Something to soften it up a bit.

  6. I am the LAST person you want to ask about decorating help, but I will say that I LOVE those brown plates with the clear tea pot! So cool!

  7. I think it looks nice. But I am not one that's good for decorating advice, either!

  8. Great centerpiece! I decorated with an antique tea set for my daughter's 16th birthday. The centerpiece was her gift. We used to love to play tea when she was a child and it meant a lot to her.

BTW, my next Iron Cupcake challenge is tea. Any suggestions?
