I had a nice time with my son seeing my hometown on our Tour Train and was reminded of a lot of interesting trivia that I had forgotten. I was going to do a post today all about the town where I grew up, but then I had an idea. What if lots of us posted about hometown pride? Would you be willing to collect pics and facts and post about your hometown (where you live now or where you grew up) and link up your post right here? If you're not a blogger, would you like reading about different hometowns? We could all link up in a couple of weeks. If there is enough interest, I'll have a linkup. If not, I'll just post my own! Please let me know what you think about it!
Another event coming up is on twitter. I'm sure you've all (bloggers anyway) heard of the huge blogging conference next weekend in Chicago - Blogher09. I admit, it would be fun to go and meet up with so many of the bloggers that I know online! But I can't go. So I started to feel a bit left out as all the exciting plans were being made. Donna @ Way More Homemade feels the same and we joked on twitter about how we were bummed out and needed a hashtag (creates a topic that people can tweet about). She came up with #pityparty09! We started using that on twitter when talking about what we were going to miss out on, or the benefits of not having to attend a blogging conference.
Turns out that there are a lot of great bloggers that are not going to Blogher09 - we are quite a cool group - LOL! More people are using #pityparty09 and now it has become an actual twitter party! Can you believe it?? I don't have all details yet, but Donna (@WayMoreHomemade) and me (@stop4chocolate) will host the twitter party next week during Blogher09 - sometime on the 23rd and sometime on the 25th as it looks right now. And it's even looking like we have at least a couple of prizes to give away to participants!
Come follow us on twitter! If you are not attending Blogher09, then #pityparty09 will be the place for you! It's just a way for the rest of us to have our own virtual party and to enjoy the social aspect of meeting other bloggers that we'll miss out on. Stay tuned for details...
If you don't do twitter, I apologize for talking about it so much! I know that if you aren't doing it, then most of the things I said are totally confusing. :)
Tomorrow is Chocolate Friday! Be sure to stop by for a yummy chocolate guest post! And you get to link up your own chocolate posts if you have them!
