I Could Use Another Week Before December

I hope all of you (at least my U.S. readers!) had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I had a great time - enjoyed the company and the food!

I know that many of you have already been out shopping like crazy with all the sales (like Kim) - I have successfully avoided them - LOL!  I may try to take advantage of the Cyber Monday specials today though.  And several of you have your homes all decked out for Christmas now (like the queen of Christmas decor - Teri Lynne!).

What have I done so far to get ready for Christmas?
~nothing~

I just can't seem to get my head into the whole thing until Thanksgiving is over.  And since I host and do all the cooking for the Thanksgiving meal myself, I need recovery time after that.  So I might be ready to think about it all sometime later this week.  Is that a crime?  I already feel so far behind and it's not December yet!  If you could just squeeze another week in right here for me, that would be great!

Oh don't worry - it will all get done.  Of course, much of it will happen at the last minute and there is likely to be stress involved!

What about you?  Are you one of the sickeningly organized people that has already decorated, shopped, and planned your Christmas or have you avoided the pre-Christmas prep until now like me?

I hope you know that I do love and enjoy the Christmas season - in fact, I will soon be annoying my hubs with the Herb Alpert Christmas CD that I grew up listening to (grew up with the record, not the CD)!  LOL!  Don't be scared - I do also have better tastes in Christmas music!  :)

Ok, enough of this post!  Obviously I have a lot to do!

Oh and you might want to check out my post on Wednesday - it's my 500th post!  Woo Hoo!  I do believe it involves chocolate and I do believe it involves a chocolate giveaway ('cause that's how I roll - hee, hee)!  :)

  1. LOL! My friend, you're so funny. I barely finished dessert on Thursday when I started taking down fall decorations to make way for Christmas. We've got our outside lights up already but not inside yet. You know this is the time of year I get a little "crazy"!! LOL!

Big you can see my house at night by a passing plane but not yours yet size hugs to you! LOL!

Have a fabulous day my friend.

  3. I am so with you on this....need some more time before I allow the frenzy to take over. I sure wish Thanksgiving were in October, don 't you????
I suppose we will get it all done, but a breather is so nice. After all, tomorrow is Dec. 1st and it's still November today! ;)

Um....no. I am soooooo feeling behind, but I'm determined to get on the ball and get it rolling...that could hurt...maybe I shouldn't be on it if it's rolling. :)

  6. Let the craziness begin! lol

Well, I'm not shopping Cyber Monday-just don't have the finances for it. (God will work that out.)

As far as an extra week? That would be great! My little one's birthday is this weekend, we celebrate St. Nick's Day, and then my husband's birthday is the following weekend! All on top of the normal Christmas stuff!

    I need a nap....

  7. I am so on the same page as you. The only reason we have our Christmas stuff up is because the kids are old enough to put up the decorations themselves. I can't believe tomorrow is December! I had wanted to do a Jesse Tree, or even do a 25 days of Christmas thingy but since either of those things would start tomorrow, it is unlikely. These two holidays just come too close together for me...

  8. Don't dis the Alpert! The man is a genius!!!

As for me, I *thought* about putting up the Christmas tree yesterday. And I *thought* about buying some presents today.

I haven't acted on these impulses, yet, though.

As you've just single-handed cooked Thanksgiving, I reckon you deserve a break anyway!

  9. Ummm, all I have left to do is wrp the gifts!

Although, I do two different trees. The decor we have up now is for my daughter's birthday, then after we celebrate, I redecorate it for Christmas. So technically, I still have to do the tree. :)

  10. When you figure out how to get that extra week, would you please let me know? I could really use it ;)

Oh you know me, I am the last minute type of gal. I do have some Christmas shopping done, but not nearly enough. I haven't even started decorating. Oh well, it will all get done. And if it doesn't, we'll still have a great time!

    Take care my friend!
Hope you have a wonderfully blessed-but not too busy-week!
