Talkin' About Thursday ~ At The Bottom

Today is Talkin' About Thursday over at My Cup 2 Yours!  The topic is to share a nature photo you took and tell the story behind it.  I was oh so tempted to share my most fascinating nature photo - a hawk eating a dove on our back fence - but I decided to spare you, LOL!  :)

We have been to many beautiful places in nature, but this pic is one of my faves:
That's my son in the pic and I'm sort of cheating because my hubs actually snapped this photo.  I love how the photo shows just how small we are compared to the hugeness of God's wonderful creation!

This particular adventure - hiking up a river in a narrow canyon in Zion National Park (Utah) - was one of our favorite things we've done.  On that same trip we saw the absolutely amazing Grand Canyon, the closer view of interesting formations of Bryce Canyon, and then got to experience being at the bottom of canyons in Zion.  You can see more pics from this River walk if you're interested.

Thanks for letting me share a little nature with you today!  I hope you enjoyed it (or would you rather have seen the hawk - HA)!

Don't forget to check out more nature photos and link up your own with my friend Genny at My Cup 2 Yours today!

Oh - and Chocolate Friday is finally back tomorrow - yay!  Link up your chocolate posts!

Have a terrific day friends!

Giveaway Winner...and...Let's Take a Trip

OK - you wanted to know who won my Giveaway...it is Sarah Mae at Like a Warm Cup of Coffee. Congratulations, Sarah! I love her blog - she has started a good series on wisdom and has some great lifestyle challenges (I confess, I haven't done very well at them). And, honestly, sometimes I just click over to gaze at the warm & cozy header photo.

Now, "Let's Take a Trip!" Judy at My Front Porch decided to host "tours" all week. There is some wonderful scenery and good info about new places. Be sure to stop by and enjoy God's beauty. I have lots of pics from several trips and couldn't decide where to take you. I decided to go with the most unique - Bryce Canyon in Utah - such an interesting place. God's creations are so wonderful and unique! Here we go:

Here we are at Bryce Canyon - a bit of driving to get there. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere, but pretty country.

Here's a look at a large part of the park from the rim. Such interesting scenery!

This is one of the best spots to see in the park - isn't it fascinating? The things sticking up out of the ground (formed by erosion) are called hoodoos - really!

Another view...

This tall formation is called Thor's Hammer.

This is one of the trails you can walk on down into the canyon. I think this pic looks like a different planet! I had walked down the first very steep leg of this path, then realized that if I continued - I might not make it back to the top! My husband and son continued further down before coming back. It was so hot that you didn't dare go too far if you didn't have at least a couple of bottles of water with you.

Same path, but looking upward from the path (taken by hubby). I love the hot sun blazing in the photo.

I know it was quick, but hope you found it interesting to look at. If you ever go through any National Parks in Utah, it is worth taking the time to see Bryce Canyon. We're really glad we did.

Do you have any exciting trips coming up this summer?
