I thought I would start the week off taking care of things that I have neglected on my blog.
First, I forgot to thank someone that gave me an award a month or so ago. Thank you to Mel at A Box of Chocolates for this lovely friendship award!
Stop Eating All the Chocolates, I often link up to her 5 Point Fridays with healthy recipes. Stop by her place and check it out!
Here's the official info that goes with this award:
"These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."
I'm cheating a little here - go take a look at my left sidebar where it says Chocorrific Commenters. It lists the Top Ten commenters on my blog. If your name is on there, that means you regularly support me and I pass this award on to you!!
I also wanted to mention that my other blog Stop Eating All The Chocolates will actually be hitting its 100th post this week! I can't believe it! I don't yet know what will be happening to celebrate that fact, but I'll come up with something! You might want to stop by there later this week.
My friend Kim at Homesteaders Heart recently posted about affiliates, which is something I was already looking into. After her post, I pursued it a little more seriously and have added 2 wonderful resources to my blog!
I also wanted to mention this new book available from American Vision. Here is some info about it from the site:
"I was driving north on I-75 toward Knoxville when I received a call from my office. “Gary, a man just called. He said that he was dying and that he had to talk with you.” I knew it was Chris Hoops. I got his number and immediately called him. Chris was a godly man who understood the Christian heritage of our nation and how it had been forgotten. He told me that he had a 200-year-old book in his possession and that he wanted American Vision to reprint it. He entrusted me with the only copy of this remarkable book, and I assured Chris that we would reprint it. After some research, I learned that the book in my possession is the only copy in existence. You won't find it anywhere, not even in the Library of Congress. This 500-page book consists of 20 messages delivered to the nation from 1799 to 1802. While the individual chapters exist in pamphlet form in private collections and libraries, it would take you years to find copies and a small fortune to procure them."
The man that Gary DeMar mentioned, Chris Hoops, was a dad of one of the families that attend my son's Christian school. In fact, one of his daughters is in my son's class. It's very exciting that this book has been published and he would be very pleased. If you want to learn a little more about the book, just click on the picture.
Whew - that's quite a bit of information in one post, isn't it? You just better go get yourself a piece of chocolate for making it through that. :)
