It Helps To Write Down The Recipe

It does - really!  :)  I created this drink last year and never got it posted but thought I would get it put up this year for St. Patrick's Day.  Of course - I remember generally how I made it, but no measurements and not sure what I chose to add or leave out.  I also remember that I changed some of the proportions around to make it better.

Maybe I jotted it down on a long lost post-it note, but I don't think so.  It was fairly basic, so I thought I'd remember it.  And I don't have the ingredients on hand to play around with.  So I'll share the pic and tell you it was yummy (hey - THAT I remember!!) and give you suggestions for making your own!  :)

That right there is my version of an Adult Shamrock Shake!  I used this recipe for Carolan's Iced Cream-A-Cino and made some changes.  The basic idea is to use mint chocolate chip ice cream and blend it with Irish Cream (I like this homemade Irish Cream recipe).  I may or may not have added a bit of water and/or ice and I definitely increased the amount of Irish Cream after the first try as I wanted to be able to taste it more.  Top with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle just because you can - yum!

So - my lesson for today - always write things down and be sure to put those pieces of paper somewhere where you will find them again.  And then have an Adult Shamrock Shake to reward yourself for being awesome.  :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day friends!!  Have a blessed weekend!  Don't forget to enter my DaySpring giveaway if you haven't yet!
