Savor 7 {Saturday} ~ 8/4

Welcome friends! I mentioned early in the week that I wanted to start a new link-up on Saturdays, another way to share blessings and encourage each other! And here we are - Savor 7 {Saturday}! For some explanation of the 7 categories, see the original post.

Why "Savor" 7? The definition of "savor" includes: to have experience of; to taste or smell with pleasure; to delight in. Isn't that just what we should be doing with those special moments and little blessings we have each day? In fact, maybe my blog should have been called "Stop and Savor the Chocolates" because really, anybody can just smell the chocolates. :)

7 blessings. 7 experiences, tastes, smells, delights. 7 ways to share, encourage, inspire. 1 for each day of the week. Join me? Write your own post, sharing something for each of the 7 categories and link it up right here anytime over the weekend. If you don't have a blog, share some of your blessings in the comments!

Savor 7 {Saturday}

Scripture: I'm currently reading through Psalms. Here's a verse I hope you find encouraging:
     Psalm 61:3-4
     For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy.
     I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings.
Always a comforting thought that we can rest in the shelter of God's wings - let's go there together when the days get tough.

Story Teller: My friend Barbie blogs at A Freshly Brewed Life, where you will find all sorts of encouraging words! But she just wrote a guest post on another blog about her journey through her husband's unemployment. Although I haven't experienced this personally, I was touched by her post as we have friends and family who are currently going through this difficult struggle. I'm sure many of you are dealing with unemployment or know people who are - read Barbie's post and know that you are not alone in these hard times!

Social: It's always nice to have coffee with a friend while sitting and chatting! But what's even better? Free coffee! My friend and I enjoyed our blessing of free Peet's coffee this week while we visited and solved all the world's problems {well we try to anyway - LOL}! Do you regularly meet with a friend? I encourage you to make time for it when you can - friendship is a blessing!

Silly: Well, how about the fortune I got from a Chinese restaurant in Montana? Here you go:

Yup, I'm "sanalytical" - could it be sanitary and analytical at the same time? I'm still contemplating what it might mean. :)

Snapshot: This hawk appeared on our back fence and I was captivated! Isn't he just stunning? He hung out for almost 2 hours, just resting. Our Basset hound didn't even scare him away, but he flew away when my son went outside. God's creatures are amazing, aren't they?

Sips: My latest drink of choice at home is a magic bullet coffee frapp. I put in ice, whole milk, Starbucks Via instant coffee, sweetener or flavoring {lately it's caramel} and blend it up! I top it with whipped cream, of course. What yummy drinks have you had lately?

Sweets: I shared some yummy Cool Lime Napoleons earlier in the week! This weekend I'm trying a couple new dessert recipes for our church potluck. If they work out, I'll share them on the blog soon. Do you find you eat more of certain types of desserts in the Summer?

I hope you enjoyed my 7 things to savor! Now it's your turn! Write a Savor 7 {Saturday} post including these 7 categories and come back here to link up. Please make sure you link to the actual post rather than just your blog. Also, please include a link back to this post so people can find the link-up!

  3. I'm late to the party...story of my life. However, I just discovered that I, too, am contemplative and sanalytical. When I took to the interwebs to find out what the heck sanalytical meant, I found your blog!
    Great! I am a word that does not even exist. I don't know if that is good or bad. That's not the worst of it. I thought that being a word that does not exist made me, like, uber cool and individual and stuff but I find I am the victim of a corporate fortune cooke...and I am not uber anything...not cool, not original and also not the holder of an authentic fortune cookie! I dunno, I assumed there were little Chinese mediums, magical women, working in Chinese Fortune Cookie Factories...just holding my fate in their tiny little hands...but nooooo! The world as I once knew it has disappeared.
