Couch Friday

I know that the day after Thanksgiving is known as Black Friday, but it's been a long time since I really went out in the craziness. Since I host Thanksgiving each year and do most of the cooking for it, I need Friday for recovery time! So I declare it to be Couch Friday!!

OK, so I'm not on that particular couch today, but it was too much trouble to actually get off the couch and take a pic of the couch that I'm on right now - LOL!

If you've been busy prepping for Thanksgiving, visiting with family, and/or shopping - I give you permission to take a break sometime in the next few days to catch your breath! The busy holiday season has begun and you don't want to start out already feeling stressed. I know that I need that recovery time so I take the Friday {and sometimes Saturday too} after Thanksgiving to de-stress and mentally prepare for December.

In fact, this goes right along with my friend Denise's post: Take Time for Silent Nights {part of her wonderful Holiday Bliss series}. I do recommend that you read it and find some time to keep yourself from getting overwhelmed during this next month.

Are you relaxing today? Or do you have another day planned to relax and recover?

I hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving and have a wonderful weekend!

  1. I would have loved to have stayed on the couch today. Got up early and went shopping with my daughter. I was surprised to see we missed the crowds at 8AM. Perhaps I'll have a couch day on Monday! I've really been enjoying Denise's series. Blessings!

  2. I pretty much did nothing the day after Thanksgiving. I was pooped. Most people don't realize the preparation that goes into making a meal of that magnitude. Glad you got to chill out and relax.

Big leftover couch potatoes size hugs to you.
