Are You Social Media Savvy?

Ah...social media. I guess I have a kind of love/hate relationship with it. I have been very blessed by it and have seen great things happen through it. I have made beautiful friendships and found blog readers through social media. But it can also be addictive and keep me from doing what I need to in my "real life." And sometimes it can feel a little false and even pointless.

I do think it's necessary to be active on social media if you have a blog, or you're an author or a public figure, or you have a business or a ministry. In fact, if you aren't active on social media you may be missing out on some wonderful blessings and opportunities. But balance is key! It's not necessary to be everywhere online all day long. A little here and a little there does it.

Are you social media savvy? You do have to learn how to properly use all the forms of social media you decide to be active on - if you want to use them effectively. I'm not the expert or the best person to tell you how to use these services, but there are many great resources available. {Gretchen Louise has lots of helpful info. Christin Slade has some helpful posts. And I have some good links on my Blog Tips Pinterest board.} Let's help each other out by sharing our best social media resource links in the comments!

I'm just curious as to how much social media you engage in? What services do you use regularly and what do you prefer? Survey Results And A Winner

Thank you all so much for taking my survey and giving me some feedback!  I do so appreciate your wonderful comments and honesty!

At first, I thought I'd just tell you the winner, but then I thought you might be like me and wonder how the results turned out and what others think about my blog (or blogs in general).

So I'll give you a summary...

~ 38 people took the survey!
~ 40% read through Google Reader, 21% come here directly, 18% read through e-mail, and a few come from various sources and links.
~ 63% read whenever I post (thank you!), 24% weekly, and a few less often.

Favorite types of posts?
~ Almost everybody said Chocolate!!
~ 2nd place:  Recipes
~ 3rd place:  Family
~ 4th place:  Faith
~ All of the above were chosen by half or more of survey-takers!
~ 5th place: Silly
~ 6th place: Decor
~ I was surprised to see that Reviews and Giveaways actually had several votes as favorite types of posts!
~  Least votes?  Buster the dog
     He is very sad...

But I'm pretty sure he'll get over it!  :)

~ Only 34% have linked up for Chocolate Fridays.
~ Other suggestions for linkups included recipes and homemaking.

Feedback Please?

Happy Monday friends!  I hope all of you had a lovely weekend (and I hope you had some chocolate - I know I did - LOL)!

Starting back into blogging after my Summer break almost felt like starting over in some ways.  I am trying to find my "voice" again.  This is a good time to look at my blog, get some feedback, and make some minor changes if necessary - a sort of blog relaunch.

I need your help please!  In the past, I would ask for feedback in comments and get very few comments other than "Keep up the good work!"  I LOVE hearing that, but am looking for more specifics and your honesty!  I think the best way to do that is through an anonymous survey.  I have a short (10 questions, mostly multiple choice) survey that I would love for you to take!
