Housecleaning Update & Tea For Two-sday ~ Ham And Cheese Crescents

If you don't know what Housecleaning Week is all about - you need to take a look at yesterday's post and enter the Purex giveaway if you haven't already! Here's my progress and new assignments for today!

MY progress on yesterday's project: I took on a bit too big of a project for one day. I did end up with a box of papers to be shredded and 2 small bags of garbage. I sorted files and labeled hanging files. I filed a lot of loose paperwork. There are 3 drawers in the cabinet - I would say I finished 1 1/2. I won't make the mistake of trying to complete that project before moving on to the next though. I will just "assign" it to myself again next week.

MY project for today: Finish cleaning and organizing master bedroom.

YOUR assignment #1: Throw away 10 pieces of junk mail or old paperwork.
YOUR assignment #2: Organize/straighten your towel cupboard or shelf.

By the way, I did do your assignments yesterday too - I wouldn't make you do that stuff by yourself (though most of you seem to be more on top of things than me!)! OK, if you haven't already done these assignments, go do them now - they're quick and easy! Now, on to my regular post.

Welcome to Tea For Two-sday! The ladies' tea that I helped with recently gave me all sorts of new posts! This is another little brunch recipe I found (in my cookbook Best Recipes from American Country Inns and Bed & Breakfasts). My picture isn't the best, but I cut the crescent rolls into 3 pieces and tried to make these into crescent "bites" so they would be small and not too filling. They would be much more attractive using the full crescent!

Ham and Cheese Crescents

1 (8-count) package crescent rolls (or make your own!)
1/2 pound thin-sliced deli ham
1/2 pound Cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Separate rolls and place 1 or 2 slices of ham on each. Top with cheese. Roll up and place onto cookie sheet. Bake 20-25 minutes, or until lightly browned.

Very simple and very yummy! I think these would also make a nice lunch when served with some fruit.

Have a lovely day and be sure to take a little tea break after all that housecleaning!!

  2. Wow when you say cleaning you really mean it. Yesterday throwing out all the stuff that mysteriously jumps into a purse and today the towel shelf. I wonder where else you want to dig into this week. -:)

I love the idea to throw out 10 things. I'm such a clean-out nut. And I LOVE that picture of all your tea goodies. Makes me hungry!

    Have a great day!

  5. My paperwork is in order but my linen closet is a mess. I am going to wait until summer is over to tackle that one:-)
