Tea For Two-sday ~ Teapot Gift

Thank you for bearing with my serious post yesterday - now moving on to lighter things! Welcome to Tea For Two-sday!

For my birthday, my expert thrift-shopping friend gave me this cute teapot as part of my gift (thank you LW!)! Isn't it adorable? I knew I had to set it out so I could look at it often.

But wait, there's a cup there, too. Well I just happened to go thrift shopping myself a few days later and I saw that tea cup sitting all by itself on a shelf. I knew that it was a match so I HAD to purchase it, of course! They look happy together. :)

Do you have a special teapot out on display? Have a lovely tea-filled Tuesday!

Tea For Two-sday ~ DaySpring Giveaway

**This giveaway is now closed.**

Happy Tea for Two-sday everybody!! Take a little break and have some tea with me. Well, actually I should be flying back home, so you'll have to have that cup on your own right now! :)

I'm so excited to have another pretty DaySpring tea item to show you! And this time, I thought I should share it with somebody, so I'll be giving it away to one of you - more details below.

This is a pretty tea-for-one set. I love these sets because they are the size of a small teapot and can be stored this way, but then open up into an even smaller teapot and a teacup. This one has scripture on it and some lovely flowers, just right for Spring. When you take it apart, the teapot has such a pretty color on the bottom and the cup is wide and shallow. DaySpring is smart to have made this tea set look delicate and feminine while being strong enough to be functional and practical. Wouldn't it be a pretty Mother's day gift?

Take a look at it..

Isn't it pretty? One of you wonderful readers will win this tea-for-one set! You're already winners actually, because DaySpring has given my readers a special discount of 20% off your entire order! Just use the code "SPRING09", but hurry - it's only good until Friday, May 1!

So, you want to know how you can make this tea set yours?? Just leave a comment and tell me whether or not you knew that DaySpring carried tea items. That's it! No extra entries for things like following me on Twitter, subscribing to my blog, or checking out DaySpring - though they are much appreciated!

I will draw a random winner on Monday, May 4 and announce it on the next Tea for Two-sday post on May 5!

Have a beautiful Two-sday! :)

P.S. I'm linking this up to Time for Tea Tuesday at Tea and Thee. Go there to check out some more tea posts or link up your own!

Tea for Two-sday: Teapots

This week at Gracious Hospitality, the theme is teapots. I only took pictures of my very favorites, as I counted up 14 + teapots in my house. Most of my teapots are just for display, but there are 3 or so that get used when we have a tea.

This lovely rose tea-for-one is so cute! I found it a few months ago at a thrift store and I just had to have it. I really just enjoy looking at this one. I guess this one is my most recent teapot purchase.

This white teapot is my favorite and gets used when I host a tea. It is one of the first teapots I ever bought myself. A few years ago, I was going to co-host my first tea and realized that it might help if I owned a decent teapot! I looked on e-bay and found this one. I was so delighted when I received it - it was prettier than I thought!

Here are the rest of the favorites all together. The back one is from a thrift store - it's German and I was drawn to the clean lines. On the left is the blue/purple & gold teapot from the set that my Great Aunt hand-painted in high school (in 1928!) - I treasure it! The green oriental teapot on the right belonged to my mom and was used many times over the years. It holds good memories for me. The little clear teapot in front was purchased from Enjoying Tea for the purpose of displaying a blooming tea flower ball (if you've never seen one, the tea ball opens into a flower while it steeps) at a tea. That was a fun thing to do! You can got to YouTube and look at lots of great little videos on blooming tea.

I hope you enjoyed my teapots. To see many more wonderful teapots, be sure to stop by Gracious Hospitality.

Lisa :)
